Royal Send-Off To Tatineni Rama Rao

Tatineni Rama Rao, film maker, director, producer a multifaceted talented person of Indian Film Industry, especially in Telugu and Hindi had departed for heavenly abode on 20th April, 2022 at his age of 84.


Born on 1st January, 1938 in Kapileswarapuram, Madras Presidency, the then British Raj he directed 70 Hindi and Telugu feature films between 1966 and 2000.


Started his work in the film industry in the late 1950s as an assistant director of his cousin T. Prakash Rao and Kotayya Pratyagatma, before making his directorial debut with 1966 Telugu film Navarathri.


According to Encyclopaedia Britannica, Rao was "the man who established the 'Madras Movie', or Hindi films funded primarily by southern capital, as a viable commercial option in the all-India market... He was the father of successful film producer T. Ajay Kumar.


Tatineni Rama Rao will be remembered forever for his commitment, dedicating the greater part of his life to the Film Industry.
